my friend asked me to make her a jogging mix so i decided to put it up here. these images in my head were the only things i had to go on as far as a theme was concerned.




my life, age 1-18, my pink lungs were bombarded with freeway dust on the way to and from home/school/music classes/activity/ etc.


all along the highways of the greater downtown area; 110, 101, 5, & 10 there were these bizarre murals of runners and joggers fleeing from god knows what that would give them the idea to run directly into traffic.


some of these murals turned out to be done for the 1984 Olympics in an attempt to make the city more presentable to the visiting world. the most bizarre was done for the 1994 L.A. marathon, the theme, 'L.A. Marathon in 2026'. naturally, the extreme conditions of the freeways and the unavoidable 'tagger situation' let these murals turn even more bizarre.
